Governor Scott signed legislation which made the Sales Tax Exemption on Manufacturing Equipment permanent!

As you know PAF was the first to receive this exemption years ago, after successful lobbying of the legislature and the  Governor.  This was another successful priority initiative of its Government Affairs program. Initially it had a increase in productivity requirement.  PAF  lobbied to have this requirement removed.  After several legislative sessions, we were successful.

Several years later, other manufacturing industries lobbied to expand the exemption to all manufacturers, which after several tries, they were ultimately successful.  PAF supported their efforts for which they remain very grateful.  The exemption was set to expire in 2017.  PAF led a coalition of manufacturers’ groups to make this exemption permanent.

Members like Mac Papers were extremely helpful though out the process, including hosting the Governor at one of their manufacturing facilities which showed him how important this was to our industry as a job creator for Florida!

I would suggest that you let your members know of the Governor’s action as a result of their associations’ efforts.
